2010 Season - Our 60th year
The purpose
of the Deerfield Youth Baseball and Softball Association shall be to help
promote and maintain high moral character as well as good mental and physical
health in the young people involved in the baseball and softball programs.
This objective will be attained by providing supervised athletic games.
The supervisors shall bear in mind at all times that the attainments of
exceptional athletic skill or winning of games is secondary to the objective
herein. DYBA Thanks our generous sponsors. We hope

Special notice concerning batting
helmets:
In previous years DYBA has provided
several helmets in each house league equipment bag. Starting in the 2010
season, DYBA will no longer provide helmets for the following
reasons:
(A) It is our observation that many if not most of the
participants have their own helmets (a practice we encourage for health and
hygiene reasons)
(B) DYBA helmets tend to be underutilized, as even
those participants without helmets tend to borrow from the participants who have
their own, and
(C) the helmets are too costly and consume too much space in
the equipment shed, relative to the lack of use.
Starting this
season, participants must provide their own helmet. DYBA will make
helmets available for sale through the website for those participants needing to
purchase one. Participants may also purchase helmets on their own (the helmet
needs to meet NOCSAE standards).

during the 2010 registration process
