***IMPORTANT – If you cannot attend either the Umpire Organization and Informational Meeting or the Umpire Clinics, please contact the Director of Umpires, Harley Rosenthal, to make other arrangements (email umpires@dyba.com).
(2) Required Forms and Applications
All umpires must complete an Umpire Application Form which can be found by clicking Here. Please fill out this application and when completed, mail it to: Harley Rosenthal / DYBA Director of Umpires / 30 East Elm St., Apt 14E / Chicago, IL 60611
If you are 16 years old or older, the Umpire Application Form is the only required form.
If you are between the ages of 13 and 15, in addition to the Umpire Application Form which can be found Here, make sure you obtain a work permit from your school. Pursuant to a newly enacted law in the State of Illinois, minors between the ages of 13 and 16 can umpire baseball games and be paid, provided that DYBA has a current year’s work permit for the umpire. To get a work permit, click here to download the required letter and bring the Work Permit letter to your school principal’s office and your school will be able to give you a work permit. Please make sure to fill out your name on the work permit letter and bring a birth certificate as proof of your age when you apply for the work permit.
