Spring Softball

The 2012 Deerfield House Softball season is well under way.  We are still accepting new players for all levels:

The goals of Deerfield Softball are to have fun, learn new skills and make new friends.  T-Ball and Pinto focus on skill development and learning the fun of softball.  At the Bronco and Mustang levels skill development and the fun continue while scores are kept and the champions are crowned.

Teams typically play one week day and one weekend game/practice.  During the course of the season teams will also have two weekday games/practices in a week.  Mustang and Pinto Leagues typically, but not always, play on Monday nights and Saturday Mornings.  Bronco and T- Ball Leagues typically play on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings.  Practices make up games and extra games are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Deerfield Summer Softball

DYBA/DYSBA is pleased to announce that registration for Summer Girls T Ball is open.  Girls T Ball is open to pre-K and girls entering Kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year.  To register, return to the DYBA Home Page and select the Registration Tab.

Date Night in Deerfield will be returning for its third season this summer.  Monday Night is Date Night.  Former Deerfield High School Varsity Softball players return to their roots and lead our girls in skills drills and games at Maplewood Park.  Local businesses join DYBA in making Date Night happen by offering discounts to parents who get a couple of hours off.  Registration for Date Night in Deerfield will open in mid-May.

Deerfield Travel Softball

In 2012 Deerfield fields seven travel teams at the 10U (3 teams – red, white and developmental), 12U (2 teams – red and white) and 14U (2 teams – red and white) levels.  Deerfield also partners with other communities in fielding travel opportunities for older players.

Tryouts for the 2013 Travel Softball Season will take place in late August 2012.  All travel players in entering sixth grade for the 2012-2013 school year and younger must play house softball in addition to their travel commitments.  Deerfield welcomes out-of-town players to tryouts and play on travel teams.  Priority is given to DYBA resident members for teams.
