A MESSAGE FROM THE DEERFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Deerfield Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Wooden Bat Tournament.  They do have a few suggestions and requests:

  • Please keep your valuables safe.  Do not leave purses, wallets, mobile phones or tablets in unlocked cars.  Take valuables with you or lock them in your trunk.

  • When parking, please avoid driveways and fire hydrants, and note that there is no parking within 25 feet stop signs

Good luck to all participating and welcome to our community.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

In case of rain or other inclement weather, the tournament committee will be providing constant updates through this website and via email.

  • Please ensure that you have access to email and the ability to check DYBA.com for scheduling, as changes may happen in real time.

SCORE REPORTING FOR ALL TEAMS

Following each game, it is the RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNING TEAM  to report both the score of the game as well as pitching records.  We appreciate a timely report for all scores so we can keep the standings updated quickly throughout the tournament.

The score reporting format is as follows:

  • WINNING team will send email to wbtscores@dyba.com.
  • Please put the AGE/DIVISION (a or b for 13 and 14u) in the subject line.
  • Player's Jersey # and innings pitched for BOTH teams during pool play, and ONLY for the winning team during elimination play (we will ALSO accept a gamechanger link to the box score for PITCHING records only).
Please see the WBT rules for pitching limits per day and tournament.  (should weather dictate a triple header for any team, per day pitching limits may potentially be altered).

RULES CHANGE 6-8-17

Thursday, June 8th, there was a revision to Rule 1E (Tournament Format).  The order of the seeding parameters now reads 'teams will be seeded based (in order) on 1) record, 2) head to head record, 3) runs against, 4) strength of schedule, 5) coin flip.'  The change made was to prioritize "runs against" over "strength of schedule" as runs against is more in a team's control than the record of their opponents.
