DYBA COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

DYBA (Deerfield Youth Baseball and Softball Association) is continuing its plan to award up to four (4) $ 1,000.00 scholarships this school year (02/03).

The following are the minimum qualifications: the individual must . . .

Be a high school senior at Deerfield High School, or residing in Deerfield and be completing the last year of college preparatory work at the time of application.
Have participated in DYBA as a player and/or umpire, for a minimum of four (4) years. (Participation in T-Ball counts as one year regardless of the number of years participated).
Have achieved a minimum unweighted GPA (Grade Point Average of 2.8 through seven (7) semesters of college preparatory work.

These awards are made annually and are not renewable. Awards will be made from a specially designated DYBA Scholarship Fund. These awards will be made at the discretion of the DYBA Board of Directors.

Click on REGISTRATION to download an application. Applications may also be requested from any DYBA Board Member and will also be available at DHS. Completed applications should be filed as soon as possible. Recipients will be announced at DHS Honors Night (if possible). Each application must be accompanied by three letters of recommendation; a DHS teacher, your DHS counselor and from a coach, manager or supervisor you played or worked for in DYBA. (The deadline for receiving all of the above documentation, including transcripts, is April 4, 2003).

Please note that children of current DYBA Board Members are not eligible for these awards.
