Girls Bronco

The Girls Bronco program is aimed to build upon skills learned in Mustang. Mustang is not a prerequisite, however. New players are always welcome. Girls will hone their skills in the areas of throwing, catching, hitting, running the bases, positions, and softball rules.  Our volunteer parent coaches emphasize teamwork and fun through practice and game activities.  New coaches are always needed.  Parents - Please consider volunteering to coach your daughter's team.   A coaches' meeting/orientation will take place in the spring to provide further information about the program, suggested activities, and rules.  Your involvement is necessary and appreciated.

Season Schedule:  Teams have practice/games on Saturday mornings and Monday evenings.  Practices are 60-90 minutes, and games are approximately an hour and 45 minutes. Over the past few years interest and excitement has allowed for a great Mustang program.

Equipment: Girls need to have their own glove, helmet, face mask and bat. 12-inch hard softballs, catcher's equipment, and uniforms are provided.

Team structure and schedule:  Teams are coached by volunteer parents.  Each team has a Manager designated to be in charge of communication with the League President, team parents, and other Managers and Coaches.  Teams typically have two Coaches. Teams are made up of approximately 10-13 girls.  Efforts are made to balance teams by age and school.

Games:  Teams play on one of our great softball fields. Scores are kept, walks and outs are recorded, and stealing is allowed. When the bases are loaded and a pitcher walks a batter, coaches come into pitch.  Players rotate positions each inning to learn how to play each fielding position.
